When we purchased this house in May 2012, there was already a nest in the balcony in an accessible electrical enclosure. While we made every possible attempt to preserve the nest and not do any activity around this enclosure, the nesting pair fled after about a few weeks, I presume due to the renovation work going on in the other parts of the house. We even provided water and some food for the pair which they indulged in, but not for too long. I spotted one sparrow again in the past week, and would like to make a nesting enclosure (box) for the birds. What can be done to attract the birds again?

It was such an exciting experience! I Was so excited to tell citizen sparrow about my observation. I saw a huge group of sparrows flying here and there in the market area. they were eating the tit-bits off the ground, having fun. Actually there is a lot of wildlife in this area, so the trees haven't been cut. maybe thats why they still exist in that area.
I even took pictures!

My Flat at Gangotri enclave, overlooks the huge jahapanha city forest. There is a group of 15 sparrows that keep moving in my area. They are active during morning and evening time. you should also put an area where people can upload recent clicks of these beautiful bird.

I THINK THEY ARE ONE OF THE MOST CALMEST BIRDS IN THE WORLD.I OBSERVED THEY CAN'T TOLERATE THE HIGH TEMP...THEREFORE ITS HARD TO SEE THEM DURING HOT DAYS...DELHI IS NOW GETTING HOTTER AND HOTTER...THAT'S WHY THEY ARE MIGRATING TO MILD TEMPERATURE AREAS.

I see sparrows daily and feed them. many pigeons are also seen/stay in our premises. sparrows come to the window of my room and do the sweet sounds which i like most. Basically from a remote village from Andhra Pradesh I like the village atmosphere. That is the reason why i like our locality where we can see sparrows, pigeons and other birds daily. My grand daughter 19 months old like to see the birds daily. And daily myself and my grand daughter feed the birds with jowar and bajari. bajari is eaten by sparrows mainly what i observed.
