The whole teshil Paddar consisting of about 50 villages have a very good number of house sparrows. The reason may be the area is very remote with traditional lifestyle of the people. The houses are kachha houses with surrounding fields, forests and the people are engaged in agricultural practices. The sparrows gets the food as well as shelter in the area thus having good number.

Although the sparrows have reduced in number but still in my locality sparrows are in a big number. The reason may be the very remote location of area with kachha houses in which the sparrows are still able to prepare their nests and multiply their number.

Absence of grassland, shrubs (particulary the thorny shrubs with pink flowers-dont know that scientific name) and nest locations are the main issues of decline in sparrow numbers.

One interesting fact is that after a long time i saw some sparrows building the nest inside the cover of street lamp,which is infront of my home.I saw the process of building nest in which each sparrow go a longway to collect the building materials(Husk or thin leight weight sticks of coconut tree leaves).Even the chirping sound of sparrows are quite lovely to hear.

in the garden we regularly keep source of water and small pieces of food. after we shifted within a few days sparrows started coming eating food and taking bath in the bowl of water.
