sparrows are one of the beautiful gift of nature. These are usually small in size and are yellowish- brown in colour. They usually feed on nuts, seeds etc. Sparrows build their nest in cozy places like ceilings of any old house.
Sparrows, though it has notextinct but it is on its way to extinction. So, we human beingsas the most advanced animal created by nature should be able to save the sparrowsfrom being extinct. Or else like other extinct animals we will also have to loose this beautiful gift of nature.

I feel sad that we still have not found out the cause of massive disappearance of sparrows in Indian cities. I feel sad that our children are growing up without sparrows. What has happened to sparrows is like canary in the coal mine. If we do not adopt sustainable development practices, it will be self destructive.

Keya - Near my house South Office Para, Doranda Ranchi Jharkhand

Till a few months back, there were hardly any sparrows around my house. But recently I started doing some balcony gardening- put some flower pots. This summer it was too hot, so I kept a small earthen bowl of water in the Balcony. Lately I have seen sparrows visiting my place- sometimes to drink water, and sometimes hopping on the flower pots.
I guess they have started coming in search of insects. I haven't seen any nesting though, in my surroundings.
