The House Sparrows seen in my residential complex called Viceroy Park are roosting every evening in the two Ficus benjamina trees in the swimming pool garden. since these trees are thick with foliage they remain hidden and only heir evening twittering is heard. I must report that I have not had a chance to observe them for quite a while as I am not home at the time they settle in for the night.

Previously I used to hear few sparrows in the morning time. But lately, in the year 2012, I did not see a single sparrow in this area. I think it is because of heavy construction. We have quite greenry over here.

Because I have been to this sanctuary only once before and I am not sure whether I saw sparrows on that visit or not, I am mentioning here seeing them often. Today I went there for the 2nd time and saw house sparrows in very good numbers. Shri V.D.Bala is an environment enthusiast and is posted here and he has kept several nest boxes in the buildings here and results are fantastic. I even saw sparrows in one of the toilet of this sanctuary...
