I awake at 5 a.m. with the tweeting sound of sparrows
and throughout the day I see them tweeting. I feed them with grains. While typing this article I am hearing the tweeting
sound and I want all of us to listen to it because our 'tweets' are not sweeter than the actual tweet sound of chirpy sparrows. My suggestion would be any house builder while constructing an house should provide a ventilator which prevailed in old houses of Kolkata.Since morning till evening
I enjoy the tweet of sparrow as I am a fortunate person.

Sparrow is very charming bird. i lived with a large number of sparrows since my childhood. but from last 10 years sparrows disappears dramatically. these days i rarely found a single bird in my village. i know the time when there were about 10 nests in my house. but now i never found any single nest in my village. we r loosing this b'ful bird.

Rites Flat, ashok Vihar Phase-3 Ashok Vihar III New Delhi Delhi
From 2004 I started to live in RITES quarters, at Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Delhi 110052. The colony is surrounded by big park and gardens (500m X 1000m) from all side. Fourtunately I had a lawn attached with my flat filled with grass and shurbs. And in 2004-2006 I found lots of sparrows is roaming there through out the day specially at morning. However with time I noticed the numbers of sparrows are reducing at faster rate. Although I heard that due to mobile tower radition the number of sparrow is decearsing, but since my residence was surrounded by huge gardens the mobile signal strength was low. I tried to find out the reason and noticed that crows are preying sparrows. I found that there is a relation between increase of crows (due to day by day poor cleaning of municipal garbage from surrounding area)with decrease in numbers of sparrow comeing to my lawn. However in 2008-2009 with huge increase in crow in the area I found the numbers of sparrow very negligible. Hence in my opinion increase in population of crows in uncleaed city has major role in decrease in sparrow population. Hence to save the sparrow the proper disposal of garbage is extremely required.

During my chidlhood days, My grandpa used to hang the paddy, and millets panicles in the roof of my home and also he made artificial nesting place for Sparrows. The sparrows game and made their nest in that place and enjoy the paddy and millet grains. One fine day, my self and my brother were playing in my home, suddenly 3 few days old sparrow sibblings fell down. We took the kiddies and tried to feed them with boiled rice. My grandpa adviced us not to give the boiled rice. Then with help of my granpa we left the birds in their nest. My granpa told that it was good to have sparrow nest in the home and we believed it will bring good things to home.
Years passed, slowly slowly sparrows disappeared from my home. Recent now, there was not a single nest of sparrow in the whole of my street which contains nearly about 50 houses.
The gap between human and sparrow is widening year by year. Atleast it is good to observe sparrows in reserved forest and agriculture fields.
Urbanization, cell phone towers, more usage of pesticide in agriculture fields, modernization of household and shrinkage of forest may be the reason for disappearing of sparrow in my street.

i saw these sparrows in the year 2000-2002 when we newly constructed our house.but after some time they suddenly disappeared.and again they appeared now.we have two dogs and so many plants and trees in our garden.these sparrows come and eat the food that is being fed to our pets.they always make chirping sound and if one bird flies all the birds fly togather make a round , come back and sit on our gate.its very nice to see their activiteis. if the windows of our house is open sometimes they come inside also make a round and go back panic.
