I lived at the O.N.G.C. colony from 1983 till 1991. We had two balconies, in the flat of the apartment. Those were beautiful mornings. I cannot say whether the over active sparrows waited for me or I waited for them, in the mornings. And yes, they turned up in the evenings as well. It was fun to feed them and watch their movements. There was lot of vegetation in the campus of the colony and we could also see their nests occasionally.

The presence of Sparrow is remarkably high in that particular house since time immemorial. I am continuously seeing the presence of sparrow in that house since my childhood till now.There must be presence of more than six hundred sparrows. Elders in my family say that they are also seeing the sparrows in the house since their childhood. Most of the sparrows are very friendly with my family members and especially with my mother. When they are hungry or thirsty, they sit on my mother's head and demand for grains and water. They get frightened if any unknown person or guest comes to my house.

I see these sparrows everyday from dawn to dusk. They visit in bunch and play in the open garden that i have at my residence. I come to this home every 3-4 month as i work in Bangalore. My family members have done some basic arrangements to attarct these birds such a bucket of water, some flowery plants and have seen these sparrows eating flowers, abundance of food grains and left over food from home which attracts squirrels, small birds and sparrows. We have some amount of greenry and small trees where i think they have put their nests.
Overall it's really nice to listen to the chirping of these birds and would like to contribute to any efforts done in order to re-store these tiny fellows.
