I was on an inspection as architect on the said premises on 25th april, 2012. since i had signed in i noted that for once i would have something to report on citizen sparrow. in my city solapur, an important city on bird map sadly i do not see any. but i do remember seeing in late 1990s.

I have a sparrow "couple" (i.e. a male & a female) which come to sleep on a couple of bars outside my window which we use to hang clothes to dry.. it is a sheltered alcove... I felt very sad to see that they could not find a suitable tree to build a nest on but also felt happy to see sparrows up & close after many years :)

There are numerous villages around the block Kalghatgi. After learning about Citizen sparrow, I actively looked for house sparrows, in all my field visits. I found presence of sparrows in almost all these villages. I visited alomost 12 villages here. But, one village particularly had a high number of sparrows and never seen so many crows gathered in one place. I visited few times in the next few days. It was the same.

We moved into this house in Banjara hills in 2003.Every morning sparrows would be seen sitting on the edge of the balcony.Their songs would wake us up.They even laid eggs occasionally.We used to feed them.But now,there are none.
