After bringing awareness of the citizen sparrow initiative to some members in my society, the news spread around and early morning walkers on Carmical road started spreading bajra seeds and bird seeds in small garden patches to attract sparrows. Initially we saw one or two. Over time we have seen an increase in sparrows and squirrels who wait to be fed. I have put up some sparrow nesting boxes ans bird feeders on trees and windows to help the lovely sparrows.

This is a sea side resort. I saw many Red vented bulbuls, red whiskered bulbuls, King fishers, crows and their nests, Brahminy Kites but no sparrows.

Three to four sparrows are seen daily. They are seen chirping at the rear of the residential building. There are a few trees and greenery planted. A sparrow nesting box and a feeder is being recently put up for the save the sparrows initiative

In May 2012, a sparrow nest was observed on the 1st floor of the school building. The nest had baby sparrows in it. The nest was inside the school building in an area where other birds could not reach as it has a netting that only small birds like sparrows can go through.
