We were on our way to kolhapur when we stopped at this hotel for a quick snack. It was rainy season and we got to see many of these feathery fluffy birds drinking water from the accumulated puddles and feeding on the food crumbs. It was a delight to watch these feathered friends. I do hope all the efforts by the organizations bear fruit and help the sparrows make a comeback. I miss their merry chirping..

I love birding.But I rarely saw house sparrows near my home.It is always a treat to watch these small bubbly li'l birds fluttering around.I recorded them in the post monsoon period of 2011.I used to hear their calls for a few days.But then a shikr made his nest nearby and all of a sudden they disappeared.I think that it is because of the arrival of shikra in our area but would like to have an expert commenting on it.
