Yeah, all my child hood and up to my college times i observed them, say i played with them. The old ladies from my street used to say i cant dry the wheat and rice because of these sparrows and now a days they forgot the wheat,rice to dry and the sparrows too.You cant explain the joy in words that to touch the sparrow chicks. I miss them very much.

I visited Manali from 27-30 May 2012 and was glad to spot House sparrows here in many areas.The sparrows are nesting in window ledges of homes and there are active nests.The native designs of homes in this area seem to be the most encouraging aspect of sparrow population as I believe that habitat loss is one of the the major causes behind decline in sparrow population.

Mr. P. Suryanarayana visits this place weekly twice to take music classes.It is at his student's place that he observed active nests of sparrows in electricity meter boxes and around the sheikpet nala area.I too observed sparrows in the area adjoining sheikpaet Nala and we are planning to put up nest boxes in this locality.
