Periyasevalai Villupuram Tamil Nadu
I got this info from Mr. R. Annamalai, Periyasevalai, Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu who sent a letter (in Tamil) to info@citizensparrow.in on 27th May 2012. Given below is a English translation of message sent my Mr. Annamalai.
"I came to know about citizensparrow through Dinamani Article dated 22-4-2012.
There are around 50 House Sparrows regularly come near my house. They come and peck on the the mirror everyday and I enjoy watching this beautiful sight. There is a Sugar mill opposite to our house. Although there not much trees in this region I am glad to inform you that there are different kind of birds including House Sparrows are present in this region".

Sivanpuram Colony Residential Area Velankanni Bus Stop Mettupalayam Rd Tamil Nadu
I have seen House Sparrows even around my house several times in a month, but less in number. While going in my street, rarely i will see nests in trees, but they disappear in sometime. I don't know what happened to them. Rarely I will see one or two birds on our compound wall.
I have been living here for the past 10 years. At that beginning time, there were only 8 or 10 houses in this area and there were a lot of trees also. Now, the area is almost filled by houses, rarely can see trees especially in the street. I think, for House Sparrows, even this may be a problem. When man construct houses, there Sparrow's house demolished, i think.
Thanks

The House sparrows can be frequently observed in old residential areas which consist of dilapidated buildings. They have also been observed to build nests in the crevices in walls and buildings. They tend to feed over the left over food in the courtyards in houses which do not follow the rigorous cleanliness norms.

Hornadu Annapoorneeshwari Temple Horanadu Karnataka
I read the article in Times of India, New Delhi edition dated 10 May 2012 on sparrows. I recollected my visit to Hornadu in Karnataka. Sparrow, which once used to be called a home pet, is nowhere to be seen in the cities we live. I was plesantly surprised to see these loving creatures in 100s in Annapoorneshwari Temple.

Baguabasa Roopkund Trek Garhwal Himalaya Uttarakhand
Baguabasa. Roopkund Trek, Garhwal Himalaya. 07 September 2006. I re-visited this place after a gap of 5 years on the way to Roopkund. There were few permanent stone huts for trekkers in this glacial basin full of rocks, but no sparrows. Area remains under snow except during pre and post monsoon season.
