The number of sparrows around my locality has increased. The little sparrows have hatched and their chirpings can be heard around.
I have been feeding the sparrows with rice and grains so their visits to my house have also become frequent.
A concern for sparrows is that the stray cats pose a major threat to them.

Average sighting of about 100 sparrows in locality, on18 March 2009, a flock of 10/12 busy in foraging in backyard.A flock of 4 Indian Silverbills arrived and perched nearby.
Suddenly the sparrows flew and lodged a sort of attack on Silverbills and returned back , only after they were driven to a distance, An instance of food rivalary, sparrows did not want to share with Silvebills
