Eatery in Cross Road opp: Airtel shop on NS Road Ramachandra Agrahara Mysore Karnataka
A small hotel in this lane caters to the people who work in the shops/offices on this busy Narayana Shastry Street. Whenever I have some food here, I find sparrows chirping and moving around by picking up morsels of grains/food thrown by the hotel workers after cleaning. There is a vacant site full of overgrown shrubs and they are nesting in the lantana shrubs and also on some crevices. I generally make it a point to save some food that I am eating and give it to them and see them happily peck at it.

I spotted a bunch of sparrows on this day (23rd Jun '13) who were either playing in water, collecting straws to make nests or feeding the younger ones. And true to their habit making a lot of noise and enjoying themselves.
I took a lot of photos of them and it seemed after a certain point in time a couple of them were comfortable in my presence.
It is such a pleasure to spot these industrious, boisterous and cute birds around.

actually during my childhood i have seen sparrow every day, they have nest in our home more than five... years passed i really didnt notice that they have gone. one year back my dad built a nest through pvc pipe. And we provide food n water we have some plants in our garden, after we provide suddenly the numbers has increased to 20 - 30... unfortunately we had to remove the plants from the garden n did... then they gone. but after that my dad built more nest with PVC pipe. Now they are coming back now they used four of our nestboxes. the number is around 15 to 20

i reported last year. this year 2013 may i went for summer holidays to that place. compare then previous year the number of sparrows are very low. last year itself it comes frequently into the houses. this time i missed it. rarely i saw it.

ya i would like to share about these cute little friends.before there used to be 1 or 2 sparrows coming to have grains which i put in my balcony,now i'm seeing a large family of about 15 to 30 or may be more than that.i feel proud to c their growth,love to c the younger ones just out of their nest and into my balcony.hope the number increases day by day.i've kept a bird bath too but they get scared even for the minutest sound.
