Sparrow sightings declined somewhere between 1995-2000. During this period there was extensive construction and vacant plots with scrub got built up. Also manicured gardens and lawns replaced home and kitchen gardens.
Over the last couple of years, a few birds seem to have recolonised this area.
Earlier nests were commonly found in our house, now no nesting has been observed.

our exaust fan in kitchen was not working so we have taken to repare in that period the space was open so a pair of sparrows come inside and try to build nest in our hall so after some days when i got kown this thing I build a nest of box and hang on our kiten window and now after 2 years they have 4 kids. they settled here!

On 09 Nov 2011 , vill Rakhi of new Raipur was visited here about 40/50 sparrows were seen.
