Hai,
In my city area doesn't see any sparrows,My Residential area are totally con-crate houses only & one mobile tower is here, within 1/2 km distance another residential area are old houses there,sparrows counts approx.5 to 10.my working campus one garden there/vehicle stand are cement seat sheds there,I see the lot of sparrows approx. 200 & above lives here. see many nests here,i rescue one sparrow chick in that vehicle shed

I grew up in Dahisar and I vividly remember chirping house sparrows in the morning and throghout the day. Post 2005 I can see very few sparrows and sparrow nests. This continued till 2010. By next year i could see 1 or 2 odd sparrows but like earlier I an not see their nests in the building corner or whereever possible.

I was just visiting for a day or two, the place we stayed was a hotel with a beautiful garden with trees, creepers, bushes. There were a large number of sparrows, it being nesting season, all were busy building nests, using dried grass, tiny green leaves etc. We saw quite a number of nests among the greens in the creepers, in small wall openings and one nest that was almost at eye level, amidst a climbing vine...it was too close to ground level and within reach of humans, i just hope that one stays strong and safe from prying humans or other prey. the sparrows feasted on flying insects, i actually saw a few sparrows, catching the insects while in flight... they are such focussed hunters!

My childhood days in my native place , we help the sparrows by hanging a pot on the ceiling wall, so that the house sparrow can use as nest. It will stay along with us, we used to call those sparrows 'adaikkalaan kuruvi'. after a long time I see these birds in my new residential area

As it was area where new residential buildings were under development. Sparrows were less seen in 1996 but seen more and more as the new residence buildings became more. there are also small industries nearby.
