I see a fair number of sparrows everyday here whereas have not noticed a single sparrow in areas like sarita vihar, okhla in Delhi. I guess though the new residential and commercial buildings are developing very fast here in Noida still a lot of lush green open spaces are major reason for their existence. I have thoroughly enjoyed the chirping of these tiny birds in my childhood at Agra way back in 80s and 90s

i installed one wooden nest in my house..surprisingly i found a pair of sparrows occupied the nest very next day... now third generation is coming out from the nest.. our children used to spend time to observe the sparrows daily...they feed the sparrows with grass grains..

Started with 3 nest boxes and now have installed 8 wooden & other material nest boxes only for Sparrows in my house premise walls.
Put up specially Sparrow feeders of wood and plastic bird feeders, regularly filled with sparrow feed of Bajri, Ragi & Chena.
Every year we have had great success with the birds breeding and nearly 4-5 chicks survive every year, with parent birds using same nests year after year.
