I stay in a ground floor flat and have the rare privilage these days in cities like delhi to enjoy my morning tea sitting in my small lawn...when i shifted here few years back there were fair no. of sparrow visiting my lawn to feed grains and water offered for them...but now a days i see only a few...when i read this article in june issue of science reporter i thought of participating in this unique initiative but was so trapped in my health problems that couldnt act on that thought...few days back while looking for some information for the science text book i m currently writing i came across this article again and this time i was determined to act...so here is my small contribution. thanks for this wonderful oppurtunity.

During January 2012 I read some article regarding decline in Sparrows. It was a thing to concern. Don't the reason but I did observation & checked the reality of article. It's been true to many extent everywhere I can spot Pigeons & Crows. It was same till March 2012 & then suddenly I started spotting Sparrows in small numbers like 2-3, it kept increasing & now it's on daily basis. I can spot at least 15 sparrows especially during afternoon between 12-4 they just enjoy here in the premises. Some braves even come near our window with cute chirping. It feels really great & it must result of awareness or may be someone has built(or sparrows themselves) nests.
The initiative by BNHS is no doubt a very good & should upheld & applauded by all people.
I will be pleased if I can install Bird Feeder or put nest near window for the sparrows & wish you guys will encourage & guide me for the same.

hey, i have been hearing the dwindling sparrow population ever since these flood of mobile towers have come up at all places.
i was into my daily workout in the morning, and on the roof, amidst the crows and a few eagles, there came 3 sparrows flying. i was very happy to see them and today(5/10/2012) i read about this website and thought to report it.
