We had a huge garden and it was a frequent sight to see sparrow nests with small sparrows. I would like to say that the number of sparrows I started observing after 1988 really decreased. As children, our parents used to tell us lots of stories about sparrows as it was the most frequently seen bird.

Every morning when I used to wake up and the sun was streaming into the house, the first sound I woke to was sparrows chirping. My house had a small water pool and these sparrows used to bathe in that and if there were grains put out to dry, they used to make a mess of it.
