I observed that people are using artificial nest for sparrows provided by "Hingolgadh wild life bird sanctuary" authorities.
Very good work by them.

I haven't seen more than 2 sparrow since last 5-7 years. But I have seen many sparrow in Rajkot, Surendranagar district (many cities & villages) in houses of local residentials.

During my childhood days (1970-80) when we lived in Ayanavaram, Chennai I used to see number of sparrows which frequented our house regularly. Now I have not seen any sparrows in Chennai since 1990.
I am very exited to see an abundance of sparrows in Ooty and Coonoor. I am interested in getting involved in any Project to introduce house sparrows from Ooty to Chennai.
