Dt ; In a shallow pool formed in lawn a Pied Myna was enjoying bath, seeing it a female sparrow alighted from a nearby wall and took to the edges of water and attempted bath, for more than 2 minutes , never tried to go to the place or close, where the myna was.
Dt ; 30 Mar 1991 ; Two male sparrows were observed striking their own images in the wind screen of jeep, earlier a Golden Oriole did the same act.
Dt 02 April 1991 ; In the shallow water pool, Pied Mynas & common Babblers were enjoying bath. Later when the Babblers left, a male sparrow arrived and joined bath but on edges, later joined by a female, both bathed and drank water.

Dt ; 15 Mar 1991 ; Females seen carrying nesting materials to other places and our residence.
Dt ; 17 Mar 1991 ; In our residential garden at 3 PM a male sparrow was seen lying on its side on ground, as if dead, on closer approach it moved about 2 feet ahead and repeated the act for few more seconds. I kept still, bird then moved in the closeby flowerbed and again did the same and hid itself.After about 5 seconds it took off towards a small tree where it perched normal. What it meant by this act? why this act of pretenion ?

Every time good nos of sparrows sen in residential areas , varying in nos from 40/50 to 100/120.

1. Always sparrows seen in good numbers and in varying sizes of flocks of 15/20 to 40/45 birds.

Sidhi town.
Dt ; 13 Oct 1991 ; Four Indian Silversbills feeding on a path were driven away by a male sparrow, who thereafter started feeding at same place.
Dt 14 Oct 1991 ; A sparrow observed in hot pursuit of a Pond Heron.
Dt 17 Oct 1991 ; A female caught a small black long legged spider, with some difficulties.
Dt 14 Nov 1991 ; A male seen in pursuit of a Little Brown Dove. On 29 Nov 1991 another bird driving away a Blue Rock Pigeon.
Dt 27 Dec 1991 ; A female drove away a Blyth,s Reed Warbler from a Babool tree.
