| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | I lived in this place for ten years from 1989-1999. As far as my memory goes, I had always seen them. I visited this place frequently thereafter and still do. I see them daily when I am there. I remember them coming into the kitchen from the back door. They do not anymore due to architectural changes made to the house. I would still say they are quite common. On a lighter note, my mother regularly keeps grains for them in-spite of complaining about the soaring prices!I would see palm-squirrels and sparrows feeding on them. People do not keep nest boxes. I am sure most residents do not know about the decline in Sparrow population.
This residential colony would be demolished in two years from now to make way for the big machines that this paper mill brings in every other year. The entire colony would be replaced by machines, machines and more machines. |
